Welcome to the website of Marijke Huisman PhD, historian, specialized in the fields of ‘egodocuments’ or life writing, historical culture and theory of thistory, book and gender history of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Marijke currently writes a monograph on the production and reception of Anglo-American slave narratives that have been published in the Netherlands since 1789.
